How the keyword research tool works

Start from one seed keyword

Use a product idea, category, competitor term, or content topic as the seed for research.

Run collection in the background

TopTrending starts an async task, so you can leave the page while keyword data is collected.

Review qualified opportunities

Open discovered keyword pages to inspect search volume, growth, CPC, competition, and opportunity signals.

Best use cases

This page is built for quick validation work before you commit to content, SEO, or product positioning.

Validate whether a SaaS idea has rising search demand.
Find lower-competition content angles around a crowded market.
Turn a competitor or category term into a shortlist of keywords to monitor.

Keyword research FAQ

Does the public page run real research for guests?

No. Guests can enter a keyword and log in. After login, the keyword is only prefilled, and the user confirms before spending a credit.

What is the difference between trend and blue-ocean research?

Trend research focuses on recent growth signals. Blue-ocean research looks for lower-competition keyword ideas with commercial potential.

Where do async research results appear?

Results appear in the research queue on this page and in the observing library after background collection updates the task.

From a seed to a research decision

Use “product feedback” as a starting seed. On October 28, 2026, we reviewed its public keyword record and Canny’s official product page. The record describes collecting and organizing user requests; Canny already supplies feedback capture and a customer portal. That is evidence of existing supply, not an unserved market.

  1. Frame one question. Decide whether you need growth context or related commercial opportunities before choosing a research mode.
  2. Enter the seed. Guests sign in and return with the seed prefilled. Confirm the task after login before spending a credit.
  3. Follow the real task. Use your research queue or observing library for its actual pending, running, completed or failed status. A delay is not a completed result.
  4. Review the output. Open the returned keyword records and check each metric’s source, date and country. Missing values remain unknown; a completed task is not proof that an opportunity is attractive.
  5. Make the next decision. Compare existing products before proposing a narrower task, such as a weekly digest linked to original feedback. That idea still needs user and supply validation.

This walkthrough uses inspected public sources. It is not a recorded customer task or a claim that this seed produced a particular completed queue result. The guest queue is an example; custom research follows the existing account and credit limits.
